How to Create a Chart in NinjaTrader

NinjaTrader’s award-winning charting capabilities are designed for of all levels of traders. For those new to trading, creating a chart in NinjaTrader is simple and takes just a few easy steps.

Make Sure You Are Connected to Data

To create a chart, NinjaTrader must be connected to market data. Data feeds can be configured, from the Connections menu in the Control Center. You can also get a trial of free futures data from NinjaTrader.

Once connected to a data provider, a green dot will appear in the bottom left-hand corner of the Control Center.

Select an Instrument

Click New > Chart in the Control Center and the Data Series menu will appear.

Use the Instrument drop-down menu to select from a preconfigured instrument list or click the magnifying glass to search for an instrument.

Set Your Time Frame & Chart Style

Once an instrument is selected, click OK.

The Data Series menu can be accessed at any time from within a chart by right-clicking and selecting Data Series to further configure your chart parameters across a number of options including timeframe, chart style and more.
